We are seeking a skilled CNC Machining Specialist to join our team at Select Source International. This role involves operating CNC and EDM machinery to execute precise machining tasks on various materials.
Key Responsibilities:
• Set up and manage CNC and/or EDM equipment to carry out machining processes, including fast hole drilling and graphite shaping, adhering to detailed specifications and setup guidelines.
• Analyze work instructions and mechanical schematics to ascertain required machining operations, dimensional criteria, and procedural methods. Maintain an accurate tool change list and make necessary programming adjustments.
• Install work-holding apparatus such as blocks and tooling onto the machine table using hand tools. Efficiently position and secure workpieces on the machine.
• Select and install appropriate tooling, ensuring electrodes are placed in the automatic tool changer as per the specified sequence.
• Monitor numerical displays on the control panel, comparing them with process sheet data to confirm dimensional settings, feed rates, and machining speeds. Conduct program checks at the beginning of each shift.
• Inspect initial production pieces, maintaining a record of measured dimensions. Utilize micrometers and precision gauges to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Report any discrepancies in the first piece or machine malfunctions to the supervisor. Perform deburring as per specifications and standard machining practices. Address production issues as they arise.
• Maintain tools and measuring instruments provided by the company, ensuring adherence to production and quality standards.
• Observe all safety protocols and regulations within the workplace.
• Undertake additional related tasks as assigned.
• High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Basic mechanical skills and proficiency in shop mathematics.
• Capability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Flexibility to work occasional weekends and overtime as necessary.
• Willingness to wear personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and shoes.
• Successful completion of a background check and drug screening is required.
• A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and self-motivation.
• At least one year of experience in EDM/CNC or tooling production, or completion of a relevant technical program.
• Strong ethical standards and integrity.
• Excellent reading comprehension and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively with minimal supervision.
