PacMar Technologies LLC, a leading defense contractor, is seeking a skilled Purchasing Agent to join our team of talented professionals. This role is located in our South Kingstown, RI office and offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative solutions for national defense.

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will have an Associate's degree (with two years of experience) or Bachelor's degree in supply management, finance, or business. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing ordering of products, researching product availability and costs, and developing relationships with vendors to ensure excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage ordering of products, receipts, and relationships with vendors.
  • Research product availability and costs.
  • Develop an effective and accurate system for monitoring purchase orders and back orders.
  • Accurately follow vendor procedures for purchase order placement.
  • Buy products by forecasted needs and consider total cost including freight.
  • Process returns to vendors.
  • Ensure that all deliveries satisfy assigned orders and report any backordered or missing products.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in supply management, finance, or business with two years of related experience. A Bachelor's degree in supply management, finance, or business may be substituted for two years of experience.
  • Intermediate keyboarding skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain a professional working environment and attitude.
  • Ability to effectively deal with difficult customers.
Additional Requirements
  • Employment is contingent upon successfully passing an employee background check and post-offer drug screen.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent Resident of the U.S. due to Export Control purposes.
