Position SummaryWe are in search of a skilled surgical Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) for a PRN position. The selected Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) will integrate into our established surgical team, known for its cohesiveness and expertise.
The ideal candidate will possess prior experience in cardiac and thoracic surgery. Responsibilities will encompass endoscopic vein harvesting, assisting in cardiac surgeries, and providing support during robotic thoracic surgical procedures, as well as conducting rounds in ICU, PCU, and medical-surgical units.
Practice Highlights:
- Comprehensive conventional cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures (excluding VAD, ECMO, and transplant)
- Consistent achievement of top STS quality metrics - multiple years with 3 Star ratings
- Stable PA/NP and surgeon retention
- Hospital-based practice encompassing OR, ICU, PCU, and surgical units
- Single hospital focus
- Traditional sternotomy cardiac surgeries
- Minimally invasive mitral valve interventions
- All lung resections performed using DaVinci XI robotic technology
- Robotic procedures for foregut and esophageal surgeries
- APP-led service with occasional general surgery resident rotations; no subspecialty residents or fellows
Qualifications:
- Current licensure as a PA/NP in the state of Washington (or eligibility to obtain)
- Minimum of one year of experience in cardiothoracic surgery as a PA/NP
- Proficiency in endoscopic vein harvesting - required
- Open radial harvesting experience - preferred, but training available
- Experience in robotic thoracic/cardiac surgery - preferred, but training available
- ICU patient management experience, including ventilator and drip management
- Current CPR/BLS and ACLS certification (or ability to obtain) - required
