Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Audio Visual Technician to join our team at Southwestern College. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of audio visual equipment and digital presentation systems across our campuses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble, install, and repair audio visual equipment and digital presentation systems, including equipment housed in off-campus centers.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to faculty, staff, and students regarding the safe and proper operation and maintenance of assigned equipment.
  • Troubleshoot problems with equipment and presentation facilities, and perform preventative maintenance programs to ensure equipment is in a safe operational condition.
  • Design and recommend audio visual system improvements and enhancements, and communicate with vendors and manufacturers regarding parts, pricing, and product information.
  • Maintain records, prepare logs, and file information, and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in electronics, computer technology, or a related field.
  • At least two (2) years of college level work in electronics, computer technology, or related field.
  • Three (3) years of increasingly responsible work experience in audio visual and/or electronics maintenance and repair.
  • Valid California driver's license and a safe driving record.
  • Industry certification: Extron Associate/Professional/Control Specialist (optional).
Working Conditions

This is a non-telecommuting position. The successful candidate must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, and be exposed to noise, dust, fumes, noxious odors, and all types of weather and temperature conditions.
