Position Summary

We are on the lookout for a skilled Product Design Drafter. This role involves the creation of precise, comprehensive, and accurate product drawings, three-dimensional models, and bills of materials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess product design factors by analyzing customer-supplied information and engaging in design review discussions.
  • Utilize knowledge of manufacturing techniques and materials to develop designs, collaborating with other departments to ensure design integrity and manufacturability.
  • Prepare and submit preliminary and approval drawing packages for customer review, making necessary adjustments and corrections.
  • Define, verify, and update bill of material specifications as drawings progress.
  • Ensure the accuracy of work by verifying dimensions, materials, and the relationship of individual components to the overall project.
  • Inform relevant personnel when other tasks are ready to proceed during the design phase (such as material updates and design verifications).
  • Deliver the final certified drawing package to the customer.
  • Provide fabrication drawings to the manufacturing team and oversee the process throughout production.

Qualifications

  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of recent experience with 3D modeling and drafting software is required.
  • Education: An Associate's Degree in Drafting Technology or a related field is preferred.

Skills and Competencies

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and at least one of the following software: Autodesk Inventor, Solidworks, ProEngineer/Creo, Catia, or Solid Edge.
  • Strong attention to detail is essential.
