About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Coordinator to join our team at Lee's Summit Medical Center. As a Clinical Nurse Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and coordination of all functions in the ICU unit.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
  • Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
  • Support the efforts of the facility to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
  • Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff.
  • Assist with staff scheduling and manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
  • Support proper inventory control and assist with managing supplies and equipment.
About the Unit

The ICU unit is a 10-bed unit with a 2:1 patient-to-nurse ratio. We have a high acuity and high volume in a tight-knit, family-oriented unit. Our team is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care and is supported by dedicated intensivists and approachable teaching physicians.

Requirements
  • BSN preferred.
  • Must have a current MO RN license upon hire or a current multistate RN license. If only a multistate RN license is provided upon hire, a MO RN license will be required within 90 days of employment.
  • BLS required upon hire and ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification required within 90 days of hire and annually within the fiscal year.
  • 1-2 years of previous experience preferred. Prior experience in a similar size facility with similar services provided is preferred. Previous emergency, pre-hospital, or critical care experience is preferred.
