Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Nurse Coordinator to join our team at Lee's Summit Medical Center. As a key member of our ICU team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and coordinating all functions in the unit during your designated shift.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
  • Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
  • Support the efforts of the facility to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
  • Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff.
  • Assist with staff scheduling and manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
  • Support proper inventory control and assist with managing supplies and equipment.

  • Our 10-bed ICU unit has a 2:1 patient-to-nurse ratio, ensuring a high level of care and attention for our patients.
  • We have a high-acuity and high-volume unit with a tight-knit, family-oriented team that works together to provide exceptional care.
  • Our unit is equipped with advanced technology, including CRRT, Impella, Balloon Pumps, Cardiac, Vascular, Septic Shock, and more.
  • We have dedicated intensivists and approachable, teaching physicians who support our team.
  • Our leadership team is supportive and offers opportunities for CCRN, cross-training, and growth.
Requirements
  • BSN preferred.
  • Current MO RN license upon hire or a current multistate RN license. If only a multistate RN license is provided upon hire, a MO RN license will be required within 90 days of employment.
  • BLS required upon hire and ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification required within 90 days of hire and annually within the fiscal year.
  • 1-2 years of previous experience preferred, with prior experience in a similar size facility with similar services provided.
