As a Staff Frontend Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in building the operating system for global trade. You'll work closely with product managers, designers, and fullstack engineers to design and implement scalable, user-centric features and applications.
The Opportunity:
We're seeking a highly skilled Frontend Engineer with a passion for simplifying complex workflows and data handling. You'll be responsible for building scalable frontend experiences, working as the sole Frontend Engineer on our team, and driving our team's vision and best practices for developing performant User Interfaces (UIs).
Familiarity with the logistics industry or manufacturing is a plus, but not required. You'll have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from building tools for customers who use Flexport's emerging Booking Management and Order Management systems to connecting with their suppliers and contractors.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with product managers, product designers, business stakeholders, and fullstack engineers to design and implement scalable, user-centric features and applications.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers on the team.
- Ensure code quality and performance through code reviews, automated testing, and best practices.
- Provide feedback on design prototypes and wireframes to the product and business team to drive performant engineering solutions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 7+ years of professional experience in frontend development, with a focus on building enterprise software products up through the middle layer.
- Expertise in modern frontend languages, frameworks, and libraries such as React, Angular, HTML, and CSS.
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and tools (e.g., Jest, Mocha, Cypress).
- Experience in optimizing applications for speed and scalability.
What We Offer:
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range displayed, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
The US base salary range for this position: $196,875-$246,094 USD.
