The Opportunity

We're seeking a Staff Frontend Engineer to join our Shipping Solutions Team. This team builds tools for customers who use Flexport's emerging Booking Management and Order Management systems to connect with their suppliers and contractors. As the sole Frontend Engineer on the team, you'll drive our team's vision and best practices for developing performant User Interfaces (UIs) that simplify the product tracking lifecycle for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with product managers, product designers, business stakeholders, and fullstack engineers to design and implement scalable, user-centric features and applications.
  • Collaborate with product designers to extend Flexport's design principles to Order Management/Booking Management tools, including the redesign of existing UI components if needed.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers on the team.
  • Ensure code quality and performance through code reviews, automated testing, and best practices.
  • Provide feedback on design prototypes and wireframes to the product and business team to drive performant engineering solutions, and translate these designs into high-quality code using modern frontend tools like React, GraphQL Federation, Cypress, etc.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 7+ years of professional experience in frontend development, with a focus on building enterprise software products up through the middle layer.
  • Expertise in modern frontend languages, frameworks, and libraries such as React, Angular, HTML, and CSS.
  • Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and tools (e.g., Jest, Mocha, Cypress).
  • Experience in optimizing applications for speed and scalability.
  • Experience with logistics processes or building enterprise software a plus.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $196,875-$246,094 USD, exclusive of bonus, equity, and benefits.
