We are seeking a seasoned Senior Finance Director to lead the financial operations of our dynamic insurance company in North Atlanta, GA. The ideal candidate will possess both strong technical accounting skills and proven experience managing system integrations and manual accounting processes.

About the Role

This is a key leadership position that requires a hands-on leader capable of rebuilding the finance department while streamlining processes for both short-term cleanup and long-term growth. You will be responsible for managing financial reporting, system integration, team management, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Leadership:
    • Lead and oversee all accounting operations including accounts receivable/payable, general ledger, payroll, tax compliance, and financial reporting.
    • Ensure the accuracy of financial data and timely completion of financial statements in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
    • Manage both manual and automated accounting processes and ensure smooth integration of Great Plains software with current systems.
  • Team Management:
    • Oversee the finance team and provide guidance on financial matters.
Requirements
  • Education & Certification:
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required.
    • Big Four accounting experience is highly valued.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in accounting or financial management, with at least 3-5 years at a Senior Finance Director level.
    • Proven experience in the insurance industry is mandatory.
    • Demonstrated experience managing financial system integrations and leading teams through transitions.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Ability to handle high-volume financial operations and manage multiple priorities.
    • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience building and leading finance teams.
    • Excellent communication and decision-making skills, capable of making tough choices when necessary.
    • High proficiency in financial analysis, reporting, and budget management.
    • Strong analytical skills and detail orientation with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
