Magnetic Resonance Imaging Specialist

Position Overview:
The Magnetic Resonance Imaging Specialist is responsible for the operation and upkeep of MRI equipment to capture high-quality images for medical evaluation. This role involves developing and upholding imaging and safety protocols while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct MRI scans with precision, ensuring optimal patient positioning and technique.
- Maintain and calibrate MRI equipment according to established standards.
- Provide guidance and training to team members on imaging protocols and safety regulations.
- Assist radiologists during imaging procedures as necessary.
- Screen patients for any contraindications and address their concerns to ensure comfort and cooperation.
- Perform venipuncture and related procedures in accordance with hospital policies.
- Document all imaging processes and patient interactions accurately.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance professional skills.
- Maintain a clean and organized MRI suite, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
- Collaborate with supervisors and colleagues to achieve departmental goals and improve patient satisfaction.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- ARRT Certification in Radiography.
- ARRT Certification in MRI within one year of employment.
- Current West Virginia State Licensure.
- Valid BCLS certification.
Preferred:
- ARRT Certification in MRI.
- Experience in performing MRI procedures.
Physical Requirements:
Must be capable of lifting and moving patients of varying weights and exerting physical force as needed to perform job duties.
Working Environment:
This position may involve exposure to various medical conditions, body fluids, and potential hazards associated with MRI technology.
