Work Schedule: 9 hours Monday to Thursday, 8 hours Friday; alternating weeks with 9 hours Monday to Thursday and 8 hours Friday off.

As an Electrical Instrumentation Technician, your role will encompass diagnosing issues, performing preventive maintenance, and executing repairs on all machinery within one of Goodyear's chemical production facilities. Goodyear Chemical, a segment of The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, specializes in the manufacturing and distribution of rubber-related chemicals for diverse applications. Your commitment to safety, environmental responsibility, and cleanliness will be vital throughout the plant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, replacements, repairs, and calibrations of various electrical systems, instrumentation, and controls.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with electrical controls and instrumentation.
  • Safely operate on three-phase systems up to 15kV.
  • Proficiently utilize testing instruments, including multimeters and process calibrators.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, sketches, layouts, circuit diagrams, and specifications.
  • Follow safety protocols, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), Fall Protection, Confined Spaces, and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as well as NFPA 70E (Arc flash) standards.
  • Comply with Goodyear's attendance guidelines.
  • Perform various manual tasks in diverse temperature conditions for extended durations, which may involve lifting light to heavy materials, climbing, standing, squatting, bending, and working at heights or in confined spaces as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must possess legal authorization to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Required to lift heavy materials, climb, stand, squat, bend, and work at heights with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Must successfully complete all post-offer, pre-employment requirements.
  • Ability to work any and/or rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, or overtime as needed.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in Industrial Electrical maintenance or an Associate's degree in Instrument Electrical.
  • Familiarity with PLCs (Allen Bradley preferred), Variable Frequency Drives, and/or DCS systems (Emerson Delta V preferred).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Electrical or Instrument Technology.
  • Completion of a structured training or apprenticeship program in Electrical or Instrument Technology.
  • Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Current Electrician's maintenance or journeyman license.
  • Previous military service experience in a technical field.
