Sport Position Specialist - Women's Soccer
Compensation: $1,000 - $2,500 stipend per semester
Position Overview
Under the supervision of the Director of Athletics and the Head Coach, this role provides support for the assigned intercollegiate sport.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the management of the designated intercollegiate program.
- Contribute to practice and game planning, as well as student-athlete training and development.
- Coordinate statistics and video analysis for both home and away competitions.
- Participate in sport camps, outreach initiatives, and fundraising activities within the athletic department.
- Support the organization of concession stands during events.
- Collaborate with the athletic equipment coordinator in managing team gear and event logistics.
- Assist coaching staff with recruitment efforts.
- Provide supervision in designated areas, including Study Hall and Front Counter, and assist student-athletes with academic services and support.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to further the objectives of this position.
Possesses knowledge of contemporary instructional practices, coaching techniques, and equipment. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with tact and patience. Ability to manage multiple tasks and interruptions effectively. Familiarity with basic filing and record-keeping procedures is essential. Proficient in using computers and standard office software. Adequate command of the English language, including grammar and punctuation, for routine correspondence.
Abilities
Ability to engage with a diverse student population from various backgrounds. Capable of implementing modern teaching methods and technologies. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary. Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with students, staff, and community organizations. Competence in instructing and assessing students in an educational setting. Commitment to ongoing professional development through participation in relevant organizations and activities.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and handle weights ranging from light to heavy (up to 75 pounds) regularly. Ability to push, pull, and maneuver materials exceeding 75 pounds. Requires physical agility to bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch frequently. Visual acuity is necessary for reading materials and observing activities. Must possess the ability to communicate effectively and use office equipment with dexterity.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent and at least one year of experience in interscholastic or intercollegiate programs is required.
Licenses and Certifications
A valid driver's license may be required.
Working Environment
Work is conducted in both indoor and outdoor settings, including athletic fields and classrooms, with some safety considerations. Physical interaction with athletes is expected. Travel may be necessary for events. Evening and weekend work may be required.
