Position Overview:

The Housekeeping Quality Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the cleanliness and orderliness of guest accommodations, public spaces, and back-of-house areas within the hotel. This role involves close collaboration with housekeeping personnel to uphold high cleanliness standards and deliver outstanding guest experiences.

Essential Job Functions:

Room Inspections:
  • Conduct detailed inspections of guest rooms and suites to verify they meet cleanliness and maintenance criteria.
  • Assess cleanliness, furniture arrangement, operational amenities, and overall presentation.
  • Identify and report any maintenance concerns or cleanliness issues to the relevant departments for prompt action.
Training and Oversight:
  • Train and oversee housekeeping staff on cleaning methods, standards, and safety protocols.
  • Provide continuous feedback and coaching to ensure consistent performance and adherence to quality benchmarks.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations for housekeeping team members.
Quality Control:
  • Implement and uphold housekeeping standards and procedures to maintain a clean and sanitary environment.
  • Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment to ensure availability and proper usage.
  • Address any guest complaints or concerns regarding cleanliness promptly and professionally.
Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records of room inspections, cleanliness ratings, and maintenance requests.
  • Prepare reports on cleanliness ratings, inspection outcomes, and areas for improvement.
  • Communicate inspection results and recommendations to housekeeping management and other relevant departments.
Team Collaboration:
  • Coordinate with housekeeping supervisors, front desk staff, maintenance personnel, and other departments to ensure seamless operations.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute ideas for enhancing efficiency and guest satisfaction.
Safety and Compliance:
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and standards, including proper handling of hazardous materials and compliance with OSHA guidelines.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and mitigate safety hazards, maintaining a safe work environment for staff and guests.

Qualifications:

Prior experience in housekeeping or related roles, with a minimum of 1-2 years in a supervisory or inspection capacity.
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify cleanliness and maintenance issues.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and chemicals.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
Familiarity with hotel property management systems (PMS) and computer skills for generating reports and communicating with other departments.
Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the property for extended periods.
Capability to lift and carry cleaning supplies and equipment.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
