Job Summary:The Personal Care Assistant will be responsible for providing various care services necessary for attending to the personal needs, support, and health status of participants. This includes assisting with activities of daily living, such as toileting, showers, eating, and grooming, as well as providing emotional support and companionship.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist participants with activities of daily living, including toileting, showers, eating, and grooming.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to participants.
- Assist with general activities such as conversing with participants, recreation activities, meal and snack serving, and housekeeping.
- Escort participants to appointments as necessary.
- Assist transportation staff with loading and unloading of participants from vehicles.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of documented experience working with a frail or elderly population or if less than one (1) year of experience, must receive appropriate training from the PACE organization on working with a frail or elderly population upon hiring.
- Experience in a long-term care facility or with a community-based geriatric program preferred.
- Must be action-oriented, manage conflict well, be customer-focused, have high decision quality, and flexibility to adapt to ongoing change.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment.
- Superior written and verbal communication and presentation skills appropriate for audience comprehension.
- Valid drivers license and use of personal vehicle for home care visits.
