Job Summary

Genuine Heart Home Care Agency LLC is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Home Care Assistant to provide personalized care and support to clients in their homes.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with clients who require assistance with daily living activities, such as personal hygiene, nutrition, and household tasks. The Home Care Assistant will work under the direction of the Agency's care policies, protocols, and procedures to ensure the highest level of care and service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, nutrition, and household tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, family members, and caregivers to ensure their needs are met.
  • Utilize techniques of positioning, body mechanics, and body alignment to promote client comfort and safety.
  • Understand and implement principles related to skin integrity and infection control.
  • Ensure client confidentiality and respect their rights.
  • Conduct services in a caring, professional, and ethical manner at all times.
  • Assist with procedures to ensure client physical well-being and comfort.
  • Respond to emergencies and participate in emergency procedures.
  • Collaborate with office staff and the Open Arms Home Care coordinator to plan client services and schedule home visits.
  • Submit accurate and timely documentation for billing and payroll purposes.
  • Work independently, prioritizing schedule of visits with minimal supervision.
  • Be dependable and able to report to assignments on time.
  • Communicate with office staff regarding delayed arrivals or absences from assignments.
  • Maintain a positive, respectful, and professional attitude.
  • Participate in processes to maintain internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Perform tasks according to policies regarding Infection Control and Universal Precautions.

Requirements:

  • Minimum age of 18 years required.
  • Homecare experience working with clients.
  • Good verbal, written, and reading skills in English.
  • Ability to drive yourself to and from assignments.
  • Previous experience applicable to the position.
  • Bilingual: English-Spanish a plus.

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent.
