Job Summary

A Registered Nurse in the Nursing Professional Development Generalist role utilizes expertise to enhance healthcare methods for learners, improving patient outcomes and their own techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and assess professional development programs aligned with current methodologies to promote ongoing learning
  • Identify staff needs, work closely with various teams, and modify educational material to suit those needs
  • Help implement education plans, creating a positive environment to reach our goals
  • Design and assess educational activities and projects, engaging team members and implementing evidence-based content
  • Use reliable methods to evaluate program outcomes, involving learners in evaluation and adjusting material based on collected data
  • Build relationships with community education programs and weave ethics through all aspects of educational practice
Requirements
  • Familiarity with nursing practices, standards of patient care, and procedures
  • Comprehensive understanding of pertinent laws, regulations, and standards set by accrediting agencies
  • Knowledgeable in health promotion, illness prevention, and healthcare terminology
  • Deep respect for medical and nursing ethics, with a commitment to safeguarding patient confidentiality
  • Adaptable teaching skills that cater to diverse learning methods
  • Excellent communication skills, with an aptitude for interacting with a varied group of people

Location and Specialty

Baylor Heart & Vascular Hospital, Dallas, Texas

Education: Facility and System Orientation, Cardiac, ICU, CVICU

Shift and Schedule

Full-time days, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., with flexibility to occasionally work night and weekend shifts

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
  • At least 2 years of pertinent experience
  • RN license and BLS certification, with the ability to obtain BLS certification within 30 days of hire
