Job Summary
The Medical Laboratory Scientist II is a key member of the laboratory team at Phoenix Children's Hospital. This role requires a strong understanding of laboratory testing principles, technical procedures, and problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing and interpreting standard, complex, and specialized laboratory tests, and will work closely with the laboratory team to ensure accurate and timely results.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare clear and accurate reports of test results for patient treatment decisions.
- Perform a full range of laboratory procedures, including chemical, microbiologic, immunologic, hematologic, and immunohematologic tests.
- Participate in the evaluation and development of new procedures, instrumentation, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain professional and technical competency through ongoing education and self-improvement.
- Assist peers with work assignments as needed.
