About the Role

The World Council of Credit Unions, Inc. is seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to serve as our Vice President of Global Advocacy and Policy. This key leadership position will be responsible for leading our advocacy efforts and developing strategies to promote the interests of credit unions and financial cooperatives globally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Advocacy Strategies: Develop and implement effective advocacy strategies to promote the interests of credit unions and financial cooperatives globally.
  • Lead Global Advocacy Efforts: Lead our global advocacy efforts, including representing the organization at international standard-setting bodies, policy-making forums, and other key stakeholder meetings.
  • Build and Maintain Relationships: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including credit union leaders, policymakers, regulators, and other industry experts.
  • Develop and Implement Regulatory Strategies: Develop and implement regulatory strategies to promote the interests of credit unions and financial cooperatives globally.
  • Provide Thought Leadership: Provide thought leadership on key issues affecting credit unions and financial cooperatives globally, including regulatory developments, industry trends, and best practices.
  • Manage and Develop Team Members: Manage and develop a team of professionals responsible for supporting our advocacy efforts, including providing guidance, coaching, and mentoring.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 7 Years of Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in a leadership role, with a proven track record of developing and implementing effective advocacy strategies.
  • Strong Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of the credit union and financial cooperative industry, including regulatory developments, industry trends, and best practices.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Master's Degree or Higher: Master's degree or higher in a relevant field, such as business, law, or public policy.
