Job Summary

This senior-level position provides behavioral health services to patients in a community mental health setting. The primary responsibilities include psychological assessment for diagnostic purposes and direct treatment through individual, family, and group psychotherapy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments based on clinical interviews and presenting information.
  • Formulate accurate diagnoses using established standards in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans tailored to patient diagnosis, age, and clinical presentation.
  • Collaborate with guardians to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Provide clinical supervision to Psychologist I, predoctoral interns, and/or graduate practicum students.
  • Conduct forensic evaluations and provide expert testimony as needed.
  • Select, administer, and interpret psychological instruments, including written reports.
  • Stay current with various treatment modalities and theoretical applications.
  • Develop and implement discharge plans based on individual client needs.
  • Manage clients in crisis using appropriate skills and assessment.

Requirements

A Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from an APA-approved training program is required, along with licensure eligibility or current licensure as a Licensed Practicing Psychologist from the N.C. State Board of Examiners of Practicing Psychologists. BLS certification is also required.
