Job Title: Behavioral Specialist

New England Village is seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Specialist to join our team. As a Behavioral Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing clinical services to ensure the health and safety of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and behavioral challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the safety of clients, staff, and others through crisis intervention, de-escalation, and debriefing.
  • Entry, analysis, and reporting of data trends related to guidelines, PMTPs, skill acquisition plans, and other relevant data.
  • Develop and implement behavioral guidelines, skill acquisition strategies, and group instruction for individuals with ID/DD, ASD, and behavioral challenges.
  • Present training to direct support staff, administration, ancillary services, families, and individuals on behavioral support and skill acquisition strategies, PBS, annual clinical trainings, protocols, and other relevant topics.
  • Obtain and maintain Safety Care Certification as an Instructor for NEV, teaching full and recertification classes.
  • Represent the clinical team at internal and external meetings, maintaining confidential information and data.
  • Consult with department directors/managers/direct support staff on behavioral strategies, crisis intervention, and training.
  • Collaborate with families, specialists, and community-based clinical services to enhance the quality of life for individuals supported by NEV.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology or related field preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of experience working with adults with ID/DD, ASD, and behavioral challenges, or an Associate's degree in Human Services or related field and a minimum of four years of experience.
  • Have or willing to obtain a RBT Certification.
Competencies:
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage behavioral challenges through crisis management.
  • Proficient in computer programs such as Word and Excel.
  • Effective communication skills through written documentation and oral presentation.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to develop and foster positive relationships with families and funding sources.
  • Able to obtain and maintain RBT Certification and QBS Safety Care Instructor Certification.
