Role SummaryAs a Senior Commercial Underwriter within PNC's Corporate & Institutional Banking Division, you will operate in a hybrid capacity, balancing time between the office and remote work.
In this capacity, you will assess underwriting for commercial clients with revenues exceeding $10 million and manage a portfolio of approximately 20 clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate independently with minimal supervision. Utilize elevated approval authority.
Prepare loan proposals for a variety of transactions, regardless of complexity, while managing an assigned portfolio.
Engage with both internal and external stakeholders.Act as a subject matter expert for specific asset classes and may lead departmental projects or assignments.
Employ independent judgment to identify risks and mitigants, preparing offerings and/or scorecards, including risk ratings, by evaluating credit, collateral strength, and financial viability of loan/transaction parties.
Contact internal/external stakeholders to gather information and clarify any inconsistencies or missing data. Execute relevant pre-approval and post-approval activities.
Identify and confirm all external regulatory requirements, ensuring adherence to internal policies and procedures.
Make recommendations on credit decisions or directly make credit decisions as appropriate.
Qualifications
Roles at this level typically necessitate a university/college degree, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience. Certifications are often preferred. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.
