Job Description

This role plays a crucial part in fostering a hands-on, engaging learning environment where students can express their creativity and build confidence in their abilities.

  • Design and implement a cake decoration curriculum tailored to the needs and interests of the students.
  • Lead cake decoration sessions, teaching skills such as icing techniques, fondant shaping, piping, and themed designs.
  • Foster a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment.
  • Assess students' skills and provide constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with other instructors and program coordinators to integrate the cake decoration curriculum with other educational offerings.
  • Track student progress and maintain accurate records.
  • Facilitate regular communication with parents, guardians, and educational stakeholders regarding student performance and program updates.
Major Responsibilities
  1. Curriculum Development: Create lesson plans that introduce fundamental and advanced cake decoration techniques while encouraging individual creativity.
  2. Classroom Instruction: Lead interactive and engaging sessions, ensuring students of all skill levels can participate and progress.
  3. Student Assessment: Evaluate student progress and adapt lessons to accommodate varying skill levels.
  4. Community Building: Cultivate a classroom atmosphere of collaboration, encouragement, and creative exploration.
  5. Equipment and Material Management: Ensure that all materials, such as piping bags, icing tips, and cake bases, are readily available and in good condition.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Instructional Skills: Ability to design and implement a curriculum that is age-appropriate, engaging, and educational.
  • Technical Skills: Strong expertise in cake decoration techniques, including piping, fondant shaping, color blending, and sculpting.
  • Creativity: A strong sense of creativity to inspire and guide students in their designs.
  • Communication Skills: Clear verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey instructions and provide feedback.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent teamwork and collaboration abilities. Must be open to receiving feedback and making adjustments accordingly.
