Job Overview

Position Title: Worship Leader

REPORTS TO: Worship Director

POSITION TYPE: Full-time, Salaried, Non-Exempt

HOURS: 40 Hours per week

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Worship Leader is tasked with supporting the Worship Director in crafting and executing impactful worship experiences that resonate with the congregation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engage in planning sessions for weekend gatherings
    • Assist in song selection and set creation
    • Contribute creatively to the worship service planning
  • Lead worship during weekend services
    • Act as the primary Music Director for weekend events
      • Provide musical direction and oversight during rehearsals and live performances to ensure proper dynamics, timing, and interpretation
    • Perform vocally and/or instrumentally as required
  • Oversee and maintain worship-related equipment, including musical instruments
  • Choose songs and organize teams for mid-week ministry activities
  • Prepare Ableton Live for mid-week worship services
  • Recruit, train, and mentor volunteers for mid-week worship teams
  • Lead worship for special occasions (e.g., Night of Worship, Beach Baptism)

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preferred degree in a ministry-related field
  • Experience in leading worship within a church environment
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to staying current with contemporary worship trends
  • Ability to lead and manage a large group of volunteers
  • Strong multitasking abilities and effective time management skills

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Proficiency in software such as Pro Presenter and Ableton Live
  • Familiarity with both analog and digital sound systems
  • Knowledge of lighting equipment and associated software
  • Vocal proficiency
  • Ability to play multiple musical instruments
  • Capability to lead and mentor vocalists and musicians
