POSITION OVERVIEW

The role involves maintaining, testing, and diagnosing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and machinery. You will provide engineering support for the installation, layout design, fabrication, and troubleshooting of mechanical components and equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the functionality of assigned machinery and meet production targets.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment as necessary.
  • Operate machinery as required.
  • Monitor and respond to all PLC outputs.
  • Engage with the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) in areas such as:
    • Adhering to the work order management process, including creating precise notifications and work orders.
    • Locating parts and information using search functions.
    • Documenting time spent on work orders.
    • Completing necessary documentation.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to support quality, reliability, and engineering efforts.
  • Communicate maintenance activities across shifts and functions as needed.
  • Exhibit excellence in housekeeping and LEAN practices.
  • Consistently adhere to safety, quality, and operational standards, including required documentation.
  • Complete all tasks safely and efficiently, following all safety and GMP policies and regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Review Material Safety Data Sheet instructions prior to handling any chemical products.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by keeping the area clean and organized.
  • In the ESP department, mechanics may be required to perform tasks related to hazardous waste management, including:
    • Transferring hazardous waste from accumulation points to designated storage.
    • Operating or working at accumulation sites.
    • Assisting with the removal of hazardous waste by transport contractors and labeling containers.

QUALITY ASSURANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Timely and accurately complete all quality checks and documentation.
  • Adhere to all established quality procedures and guidelines.
  • Notify supervision for corrective actions when defects are identified or when parts/processes do not meet specifications.

EDUCATION / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Experience: At least one year of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic.
  • Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Proficiency in shop mathematics, the ability to interpret complex drawings, specifications, charts, and tables, and familiarity with various measuring instruments. Equivalent to 1 to 3 years of applied training is required. Must demonstrate sound judgment in planning and executing tasks, utilizing complicated drawings and specifications, and operating computer-controlled equipment. Familiarity with hand tools and precision measuring devices is essential, along with the capability to perform minor electrical repairs (230v and under). The role requires physical activity, including standing, walking, reaching, bending, and occasionally lifting or moving heavy items up to 50 lbs. (with assistance for heavier weights).
  • Testing: Candidates must meet satisfactory standards on the STM Mechanic Task Series and Basic Props Test.

PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

  • Technical School training or four years of equivalent industrial and/or military experience.
