Production Welder I at The Toro Company: A Rewarding Career Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Production Welder I to join our team at The Toro Company. As a Production Welder I, you will play a vital role in manufacturing high-quality equipment.

Job Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for welding components used to build Ditch Witch equipment. This involves reading information from blueprints, technical manuals, or other documents and using MIG welding equipment to weld machine components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and other documents to ensure accurate welding
  • Set up fixtures, mount parts in fixtures, and perform mechanical assembly using hand and air tools
  • Use a hoist to lift and position large, heavier components and completed weldments
  • Set up, adjust, and operate MIG welding equipment to weld machine components
  • Remove components from fixtures, clean, and check them for quality, correcting errors or deficiencies of weldments as needed
  • Utilize a computer to check the location, inventory, routing of parts, and record inventory transactions

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Appropriate MIG welding experience or completion of a formal welding training program (or equivalent in training and experience)
  • Pass required entry-level plate test for production welding
  • Appropriate mechanical skills, including experience using hand and air-powered tools
  • Appropriate reading, clerical, and basic math skills

Work Environment:

This role requires working in a manufacturing plant environment with variable temperatures, humidity, noise, and dirt levels. Personal protective equipment, including a welding hood, gloves, safety glasses, face shields, and hearing protection, is necessary. Physical hazards such as powered vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic, sharp objects, moving machinery, electrical arc-welding equipment, and materials handling also exist.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands for this job are classified as medium, requiring frequent walking, twisting, bending, squatting, kneeling, and climbing. Continuous walking is also required, along with occasional sitting and elevated work.

Estimated Salary Range:$45,000-$60,000 per year based on location and experience
