Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and resolve issues with hotel equipment, systems, and facilities, including HVAC and electrical systems.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and regular inspections to ensure optimal operation.
  • Coordinate maintenance staff and manage the maintenance budget effectively.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies regarding Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, and Fire Safety.
  • Operate and maintain essential mechanical systems, including domestic water, hot water, chilled water, and pool systems. Experience with chillers and boilers is preferred.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of parts by receiving, labeling, and logging ordered items, ensuring efficient tracking and replacement.
  • Assist with general building maintenance tasks, such as replacing ceiling tiles and light bulbs, to uphold the hotel’s quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by organizing storage areas and adhering to safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with other engineers on repairs and complete daily paperwork as required.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of maintenance or engineering experience, ideally within a hotel environment.
  • Previous experience as a hotel engineer or in comparable maintenance roles is advantageous.
  • Basic skills in reading technical prints, schematics, and equipment operation instructions are preferred.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and a willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to handle stressful situations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
  • Fluency in English is essential.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent standing, walking, and use of hands for handling tools and equipment.
  • Occasional lifting and moving of items up to 60 pounds.
  • Ability to operate various types of maintenance equipment.
