Job Summary
Community Options, Inc. is seeking a skilled Day Program Manager to lead our team in providing person-centered care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for supervising and overseeing our Direct Support Professionals, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services and support to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and train a team of Direct Support Professionals to support programmatic initiatives, goals, and daily routines.
- Manage staff schedules and ensure adequate staffing levels.
- Provide training on daily routines, including cleaning, cooking, feeding, medication administration, and maintaining personal hygiene.
- Develop and implement activity programs, including the Meaningful Day curriculum.
- Communicate with families and guardians of individuals we support as needed.
- Develop and update Individual Support Plans (ISP)/Person-Centered Plans (PCP) with an interdisciplinary team.
- Ensure individuals are supported according to their ISP/PCP, including medication management, meal planning, and behavior management.
- Ensure program documentation and billable records are completed accurately and timely.
- Assist with monitoring the finances of individuals, ensuring purchases are approved and accounted for with documentation.
- Monitor the health and medical needs of individuals and report any concerns.
- Manage relationships with families and guardians of individuals in our care.
- Ensure work locations and vehicles are clean, well-maintained, and stocked with necessary supplies.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Complete all state and agency required training per state guidelines.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
- Knowledge of state regulatory agency operations and standards relevant to supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
- Team-oriented with demonstrated leadership experience.
- Experience with problem-solving against multiple priorities.
- Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with individuals receiving supports.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations.
Working Conditions
- Work in residential programs, day programs, and in the community.
- Schedule may change due to business needs and may include evening and weekend hours.
- Required to be on-call in cooperation with other management staff.
- Frequent lifting, stretching, and other physical exertion may be required.
- May be required to transport individuals using your own vehicle or company-provided vehicles.
- May be required to lift or move 25+ pounds.
- May assist with wheelchair transfer of non-ambulatory individuals.
- May be exposed to various medical conditions and communicable diseases.
