Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CT Technologist to join our team on a weekend alternative premium schedule. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for operating computerized tomographic scanners to obtain high-quality images for use by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies and disease.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate CT scanners to obtain images for use by physicians
  • Prepare patients for procedures, administer oral and intravenous contrast media, and operate scanners according to protocol
  • Review patient charts and radiological history to determine proper protocol based on physician's order and patient history
  • Adhere to department policy for identifying patients before beginning any diagnostic or interventional procedure
  • Transfer patients to CT table, assist patients with positioning, and apply immobilization and support devices as necessary
  • Administer contrast media, per protocol, and radiologists' and referring physicians' orders, following established sterile techniques and methods
  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions to contrast media
  • Observe case progress and patient condition before and during performance of diagnostic procedures, recognizing changes that may require emergency actions and initiating appropriate responses
  • Demonstrate knowledge of hospital and departmental policies and practices with respect to sterile, isolation, and aseptic techniques to prevent contamination
  • Apply knowledge of potential radiation hazards and observe appropriate radiation safety regulations
  • Assist other staff members in maintaining cleanliness of patient and staff areas
  • Document reactions, complications, and follow up with phone calls to the patient's referring physician and nursing unit as required by departmental policy
  • Burn CDs as required and requested by departments, patients, and physicians using the PACS and/or PACS Cube devices
  • Maintain required files and records for equipment and patients
  • Notify appropriate personnel immediately when equipment malfunctions and/or needs repair
  • Schedule CT examinations to ensure smooth flow and optimal utilization of equipment
  • Perform duties of a general diagnostic radiologic technologist as required for their site, shift, and/or assignment
  • Maintain ARRT registry by obtaining necessary continuing education credits
  • Maintain BLS competency as evidenced by attendance at an annual BLS review
  • Demonstrate proficiency in venipuncture policies and techniques
  • Maintain competency in all CT-specific procedures and protocols
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • ARRT(R) registered
  • Prefer 6 months of CT and/or diagnostic imaging experience
  • Interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with all patients
  • Analytical skills necessary to acquire and effectively utilize knowledge of computerized tomography techniques and methods, and of cross-sectional anatomy in order to obtain quality images
  • Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail at all times when operating equipment, manipulating, and reproducing images
  • Ability to recognize pathology and tailor examination to provide a complete diagnosis
