Grooming Technician

This role is responsible for enrolling and completing the Paragon training program, a 15-week virtual learning experience that teaches the fundamentals of bathing and grooming, as well as safety, pet first aid, and CPR. As a Grooming Technician in Training, you will learn and perform a combination of duties, including bathing, drying, brushing, and combing various coat types, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and basic clipper techniques.

• Enroll and complete the Paragon training program within the required timeline
• Develop and maintain a strong understanding of pet behavior, body language, and safety protocols
• Perform a variety of grooming tasks, including bathing, drying, brushing, and combing, as well as nail trimming, ear cleaning, and basic clipper techniques
• Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a clean and safe working environment
• Assist in generating business through phone calls, scheduling appointments, and verifying vaccinations
• Maintain accurate records of pet clients, including services provided and vaccination records

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Ability to work with dogs and cats, demonstrating patience and compassion
• Ability to read, write, and count accurately to complete all documentation
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations

This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with moderate noise levels. You will be exposed to sharp grooming instruments, perfumed shampoos and soaps, pets, and pet waste. You will also be required to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends, and may be required to lift or move heavy equipment or animals.
