Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Bond Health Staffing. As an Occupational Therapist, you will work with students to facilitate rehabilitation and independence in daily living skills. You will be responsible for evaluating and treating students to help them achieve their goals.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate students to establish learning and performance capabilities.
  • Develop treatment plans to attain established goals, working within the scope of the student's functional level.
  • Maintain daily and monthly attendance records.
  • Ensure individuals receive services appropriate to their needs and consistent with educational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Select educational, recreational, and social activities to aid students in adjusting to their functional level.
  • Teach adaptive skills necessary to perform daily living and/or vocational tasks.
  • Provide and participate in in-service education for other personnel relevant to techniques and objectives of the program.
  • Serve and participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team at team meetings, Annual Reviews, Case Presentations, In-Services, etc.
  • Record progress on all active cases in therapy, monitor therapy status, and make appropriate recommendations as changes occur.
  • Refer students to other clinical services if such referral is felt appropriate.
  • Design, make, and fit adaptive devices for student use, such as splints or braces.
  • Participate in Initial Evaluation and Intake processes.
  • Complete all required documentation in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Provide supervision to Occupational Therapy students and Occupational Therapy Assistants as needed.
  • Maintain equipment and order supplies as required.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Good interpersonal skills to interact effectively with employees, co-workers, students, their families, other programs, outside contacts, etc.
  • Ability to maintain the strictest confidentiality due to the sensitive nature of the position.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Analytical ability to evaluate student condition and progress and select appropriate therapy techniques.
  • Must be willing to be, or is already, fingerprinted by the NY Board of Education and Department of Investigation.
Experience and Education
  • Occupational Therapy experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • NYS Occupational Therapy license.
