Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team at St. Luke's University Health Network. As a Medical Technologist, you will be responsible for performing laboratory tests, operating laboratory instrumentation, and troubleshooting equipment. You will also be responsible for teaching/training students and new employees, problem-solving, and quality control.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory tests according to established protocols and designated by supervisor/manager
  • Operate laboratory instrumentation as necessary to perform laboratory tests
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation with the aid of consulting technical services
  • Perform routine tests in other network laboratories as assigned
  • Perform phlebotomy duties as assigned
  • Assume responsibility for problem-solving, teaching students and/or new employees, quality control, and instrument maintenance
  • Monitor inventory of supplies and report low volume to the appropriate person
  • Accurately transcribe test results or enter results into laboratory information system
  • Follow established policies regarding proper documentation of critical values, reagent lot numbers, and other quality assurance data
  • Attend continuing education or training sessions inside and/or outside the hospital campus to meet minimum standards of accrediting agencies
  • Demonstrate competency in assigned areas of responsibility
Requirements
  • MLS/MT/MLT (ASCP) or equivalent
  • Successful completion of an accredited MLS/MT/MLT program or equivalent work experience
