Overview:
The System Administrator specializing in Linux will oversee the architecture, deployment, and administration of Linux-based servers and their related applications within the organization.
The successful candidate will possess a robust foundation in Linux system management, scripting capabilities, and a comprehensive grasp of networking protocols and security best practices.
Primary Duties:
Design, implement, and maintain Linux server infrastructures, ensuring peak performance, security, and dependability.
Conduct installation, configuration, and upkeep of Linux servers and associated software.
Monitor system performance, diagnose issues, and execute solutions to boost system reliability and efficiency.
Administer user accounts, access rights, and security protocols to ensure adherence to organizational standards.
Work in conjunction with development and operations teams to automate workflows and enhance system deployment through DevOps methodologies.
Establish and uphold backup and disaster recovery strategies for Linux environments.
Create and sustain documentation for system setups, workflows, and procedures.
Offer technical assistance and training to end-users regarding Linux applications and systems.
Keep abreast of industry developments, tools, and best practices relevant to Linux system management and technologies.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline; relevant certifications (e.g., RHCE, LPIC) are advantageous.
Demonstrated 2+ years of experience as a Linux System Administrator or in a comparable position.
In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat) and related technologies.
Expertise in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, Perl) for automation and system administration.
Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and virtualization technologies (e.g., KVM, VMware) is preferred.
Exceptional troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Capability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team setting.
