Job Summary

The Vascular Technologist PRN is responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound exams in a timely and accurate manner. This role requires a high level of expertise in vascular ultrasound and the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and interpret upper and lower extremity venous anatomy
  • Perform upper and lower extremity Venous Duplex protocols for DVT
  • Identify and interpret extra-cranial and intracranial anatomy
  • Perform Carotid Duplex exam protocols
  • Operate complex measurement and Doppler programs
  • Produce high-quality scans of patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric
  • Complete quality scans in a timely manner and prioritize workflow to meet STAT and urgent demands
  • Assist physicians performing invasive exams
  • Perform procedures in the operating room
  • Complete required documentation on forms, logs, and in the computer
  • Follow patient care and safety policies and procedures
  • Take call on a rotating basis and arrive at the hospital within 45 minutes of receipt of call
Qualifications
  • Associate Degree in Diagnostic Ultrasound
  • Certificate of successful completion from an accredited school of vascular ultrasound
  • Preferred: One year of previous experience in vascular ultrasound
  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) with American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
