Blakehurst is seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing Operations to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality nursing care to our residents.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain a positive relationship with government agencies and the community health delivery system.
- Plan and implement innovative program services that meet resident needs.
- Maintain clinical skills and stay knowledgeable of current standards of nursing practice through education related to geriatrics.
- Act as interim/backup MDS Coordinator and Director of Nursing.
- Participate in on-call schedule as assigned by the Director of Nursing.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including corporate compliance and HIPAA Privacy Standards.
- Participate in annual surveys and regulatory visits, and assist with completing plans of correction as requested by regulatory agencies.
- Develop and maintain effective fall prevention, skin care, and infection control programs.
- Current and valid Maryland RN license and BLS certification.
- Experience working with the elderly required, with at least one year of organizational or management experience supervising others.
- Geriatric nursing experience required.
- Self-starter with strong motivation and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good judgment and common sense in the performance of duties.
- Ability to evaluate and respond to the needs of staff, clients, and others in a timely manner.
