Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Social Service Specialist 5 to lead our Adult Protective Services (APS) team as a supervisor and investigator trainer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social services, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to train and mentor new investigators.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and lead a team of Social Service Specialists in conducting investigations and providing protective services to vulnerable adults.
  • Train and mentor new investigators on investigative techniques, policies, and procedures.
  • Develop and implement training programs to ensure team members have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination of services.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members to ensure they are meeting performance expectations.
Requirements
  • One year of experience as a Social Service Specialist 4 or equivalent.
  • Two years of experience as a Social Service Specialist 3 or equivalent.
  • Four years of experience as a Social Service Specialist 2 or equivalent.
  • Master's degree in Social Services, Human Services, Behavioral Sciences, or a related field and four years of paid social service experience equivalent to a Social Service Specialist 2.
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Services, Human Services, Behavioral Sciences, or a related field and six years of paid social service experience equivalent to a Social Service Specialist 2.
  • Ten years of paid professional/practical social service experience equivalent to a Social Service Specialist 2.
