Job Summary

As an Electrical Design Engineer at Burkhart Enterprises, you will play a key role in supporting daily project management, client interface, and providing direction to engineers, designers, and production staff on the production of on-time and quality-controlled project-specific deliverables.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review technical drawings, calculations, conceptual and detailed designs, methods and materials specifications, electrical and instrumentation equipment application.
  • Provide leadership and mentor less experienced engineers, resolving day-to-day questions and ensuring NEC compliance, building code compliance, feasibility studies, adherence to budgets and schedules, cost estimating, field survey, construction administration.
  • Support procurement and construction activities, working under the direction of senior engineers.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering or a related field, with a PE certification.
  • Familiarity with Modicon, Allen-Bradley Programmable Controllers, Schneiders Unity Pro, Wonderware, Citect, and other platforms, with DCS experience preferred.
  • Experience with electrical conceptual designs, methods and materials specifications, and proficiency with electrical analysis software such as SKM Power Tools or ETAP.
  • Previous experience with electrical power distribution, grounding, motor control, lighting, fire alarm, and communication systems, with the ability to travel domestically and internationally to provide field support for new and ongoing projects.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to work in a project team, maintain a project schedule, and interact with clients and co-workers in a professional and respectful manner.
