About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical systems for various projects, including medium voltage, low voltage, emergency power systems, critical power systems, lighting systems, and heat trace systems.
  • Assess the feasibility of new projects and develop more detailed scope through field walks and collaboration with facilities operations partners and project engineers from other disciplines.
  • Provide technical guidance and issue resolution during detailed design and construction, and manage the performance of integrators, architects, and engineers.
  • Interface and coordinate with contract design, construction, scheduling, and estimating resources, and work with facilities staff and project managers to enable facility design efforts.
  • Define design criteria, lead scope definition and justification, develop design concepts, and oversee completion of positioning, programming, and detailed design.
  • Work with estimators to ensure costs are captured and project budgets are met, and improve standards and drive innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate and share learnings with counterparts at other sites across the globe.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field with 4+ years of experience on design and construction of electrical systems.
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field with 3+ years of experience on design and construction of electrical power systems.
  • Professional Engineer status.
  • Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills, especially in communicating technical issues.
  • Willingness to collaborate across engineering disciplines, organizations, and geographic boundaries.
  • Team and quality-oriented skills.
  • Technical skills in electrical engineering.
  • Skills to lead and provide direction to technical teams.
  • Value for safety and a safe project environment.
  • Technical writing skills (e.g. specifications).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Focus on industrial, semiconductor, and cleanroom projects.
  • 3+ years of experience leading a team.
  • 3+ years of experience with electrical systems such as medium voltage, low voltage, emergency power systems, critical power systems, lighting systems, and heat trace systems.
  • Proficiency with reading and interpreting construction contract documents.
  • Familiarity with 1-line diagrams and BIM (3D modeling).
  • 3+ years of experience managing project change control.
  • 3+ years of experience with construction, start-up, and commissioning/turnover of facilities systems.
  • 3+ years of experience with building and fire codes and hazardous occupancies is preferred.
  • Familiar with ATEX and EPD requirements.
  • Familiarity with power modeling databases such as EasyPower or SKM is preferred.
