Organization Overview: Conservation Corps Minnesota & Iowa (CCMI) is a nonprofit organization recognized under 501(c)(3) and serves as an AmeriCorps grantee. Each year, we engage numerous individuals in various programs aimed at enhancing access to outdoor activities, restoring natural ecosystems, safeguarding waterways, and addressing challenges related to climate change and clean energy.

Position Summary: The Corps is in search of a visionary Chief Executive Officer to spearhead an ambitious agenda, providing stability and motivation to our dedicated and skilled team. The ideal candidate will be tasked with envisioning a sustainable future for the organization while adapting to the evolving needs and priorities of our society.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report to the 19-member Board of Directors, ensuring the consistent achievement of CCMI's mission focused on environmental stewardship and service-learning.
  • Oversee an annual operating budget exceeding $10 million, managing diverse revenue streams.
  • Lead a passionate team of 41 staff members and nearly 400 program participants, fostering a cohesive, equitable, and inclusive environment across multiple locations.
  • Act as the principal spokesperson for the organization, cultivating partnerships with government officials, corporate and foundation leaders, individual donors, and environmental advocates.
  • Guide and direct CCMI staff and Corps members, leveraging the rich heritage of the Conservation Corps movement while addressing contemporary challenges and opportunities.

Compensation and Benefits: The annual salary for this role ranges from $150,000 to $175,000, commensurate with experience. A comprehensive benefits package is included, featuring health and dental insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan, 13 holidays plus additional floating holidays, and Paid Time Off encompassing vacation, sick leave, and other types of leave.

Work Environment: This role is primarily in-person, based out of CCMI's St. Paul office, with some flexibility for hybrid work arrangements. Staff members operate on-site from various regional offices and field sites. Occasional travel to locations throughout Minnesota and Iowa may be required.
