Counselor for First Responders

Salary InformationThe salary for this position is $37-45 per hour, dependent upon experience. This competitive rate reflects the importance of this role in supporting the well-being of our clients.
About the PositionThis position will be responsible for providing counseling services to active and retired first responders and their families. Sessions may include individuals, couples, or groups, and will vary depending on the needs of our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Counseling Services: Provide mental health counseling services to individuals and groups, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and therapy.
- Client Relationships: Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients, families, and Friends of Firefighters to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other mental health professionals, medical professionals, and social service providers to ensure that clients receive comprehensive and coordinated care.
- Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with best practices and continuing education requirements to maintain licensure and improve clinical skills.
- Education: Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Current licensure as a mental health counselor or social worker in the state of New York.
- Clinical Experience: Trauma care or other related experience highly preferred.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
