About the Role

The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania is seeking a highly skilled Veterinary Nurse to join our team as a Surgical Care Specialist. As a key member of our veterinary nursing staff, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the delivery of high-quality surgical services.

Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate individual with experience in general practice and anesthesia. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in surgical procedures, monitoring anesthesia, and providing top-notch patient care.

About You

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you will need to have a strong background in veterinary nursing, including experience in general practice and anesthesia. A CVT/LVT/RVT certification and at least 3 years of experience in a similar role are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in surgical procedures, including pre-medicating, inducing, intubating, monitoring, and recovering patients.
  • Monitor anesthesia and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
  • Utilize strong venipuncture skills to facilitate blood draws and IV catheter placements.
  • Ensure prompt and accurate completion of paperwork and maintenance of patient records.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to provide optimal care for patients.

What We Offer

In return for your hard work and dedication, we offer a competitive salary range of $34,000-$42,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, you will receive a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, tuition assistance, and a generous retirement plan.
