This role offers reduced hours during peak tax season, eliminating late nights and weekend work, along with Fridays off from mid-May to mid-August. Join a firm that genuinely values and supports its employees.

This position presents a remarkable opportunity to transition from your CPA firm or trust company experience into a comprehensive relationship management role. You will oversee various facets of investment and accounting functions, as well as the legal and administrative requirements necessary to meet the needs of family members.

As a Tax Manager focusing on client service within a 15-person Family Office, you will have the chance to pivot from traditional CPA roles to a full-service relationship management position. Your responsibilities will include overseeing tax return preparation and delivering comprehensive client service at a well-established Family Office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of client relationships, including cash flow planning, analyzing potential tax implications of planned transactions, and assisting with gift and estate planning decisions.
  • Identify, analyze, and present comprehensive tax planning strategies while advising clients on complex tax concepts and technical issues. Collaborate with team members on the legal implications of taxable events and drive projects to successful completion.
  • Mentor and train a motivated team in best practices for tax compliance and client communication. Support staff in developing and implementing systems and reports to meet client needs.
  • Utilize integrated software applications to calculate, support, store, and report financial activities while assisting in the creation and maintenance of policies and procedures.
  • Maintain tracking systems for complete oversight of the Family Office's tax filing obligations, reviewing external tax law changes to enhance reporting and tracking.
  • Collaborate with the management team on department-wide initiatives to ensure consistent work products across families and communicate effectively with staff for timely workflow.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience managing multiple client projects and deadlines, with proactive communication with clients, staff, and management.
  • Experience corresponding with federal and state taxing authorities as necessary.
  • Expertise in complex tax matters and mentoring staff to produce well-supported work products.
  • Proficient in databases, CCH Axcess/Fixed Assets, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Office.
