Berendsen, Inc. is seeking a skilled Embedded Systems Engineer to join our Controls Division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and managing control systems for mobile hydraulic, mobile electric, industrial hydraulic, and industrial electric systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and project manage control systems, defining and documenting control functions, including software development for microcontrollers and PLCs.
  • Collaborate with sales and customers to define project scope and select suitable solutions to control problems.
  • Travel to customer sites for initial machine start-up, commissioning, and training on control systems, approximately 25% of the time.
  • Develop software primarily in the Danfoss Plus1 Guide environment.
  • Recommend and implement changes to resolve field problems and evaluate prototypes for design modification to improve system performance and reliability.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Agricultural, Mechatronics, Engineering Technology, or a similar discipline.
  • Knowledge and interest in heavy mobile hydraulic equipment, such as agricultural, mining, construction, or oilfield equipment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in machine design and project management.
  • Knowledge of communication protocols (e.g., CAN, Ethernet, RS-232).
  • Experience with DC electrical control systems, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems.
  • CoDeSyS, PLC, and C programming skills are strong assets.
  • Knowledge of micro-controllers and PLCs, as well as graphic user interface experience.
  • A strong understanding of Closed Loop Feed-Back controls schemes and tuning a PID system.
