Special Education Instructor

Soliant is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide high-quality instruction and support to students with special needs in the New London, CT area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in special education and be able to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that meet the unique needs of each student.

Responsibilities:

* Develop and implement IEPs for students with special needs, ensuring that their learning goals and objectives are addressed.
* Utilize various teaching strategies and techniques to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
* Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement effective instructional strategies and support services.
* Provide direct instruction to students, delivering engaging and differentiated lessons that promote academic, social, and emotional growth.
* Assess student progress regularly and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
* Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters a sense of belonging and supports the social and emotional well-being of students.
* Maintain accurate and detailed records of student progress, behavior, and IEP compliance.
* Attend and actively participate in meetings, workshops, and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
* Valid state teaching certification in Special Education.
* Prior experience working with students with special needs is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and other professionals.
* Patience, empathy, and the ability to create a supportive and nurturing learning environment.
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
