Objective:

To assist in the preparation of meals in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as the established policies and procedures of Manor Lake Ellijay, ensuring that high-quality food service is consistently delivered.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support food preparation by utilizing standardized recipes and production guidelines, ensuring portion control and meal presentation standards are met.
  • Engage in food line operations during service hours.
  • Help maintain proper storage practices for raw ingredients and leftover items.
  • Assist in the execution of daily or scheduled cleaning tasks.
  • Conduct all duties in alignment with established safety, sanitation, and infection control protocols.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in all food storage and preparation areas, ensuring that equipment and supplies are organized and well-maintained.
  • Exhibit good personal hygiene practices at all times.
  • Report any hazardous conditions, equipment issues, accidents, or incidents to the Food Service Director or Executive Director without delay.
  • Dispose of food waste in accordance with established guidelines, using appropriate protective gear when handling potentially infectious materials.
  • Ensure that menus are accurately maintained and filed, completing necessary documentation for the Dining Service Director.
  • Review menus prior to food preparation and verify the accuracy and completeness of meal trays according to dietary preferences.
  • Perform any additional tasks or projects as assigned by management.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Participate in orientation, training, and in-service educational programs.
  • Foster a positive working relationship with team members to ensure effective food service operations.
  • Assist in the inventory and storage of incoming food supplies and equipment, providing recommendations to the Dining Service Director regarding departmental needs.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
  • Prior experience or completion of a relevant training program is preferred.
  • Exhibit patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a positive demeanor when interacting with elderly residents.
  • Must possess sufficient upper body strength to lift, shift, and move items weighing over twenty-five pounds.
  • Ability to squat, reach, and stretch comfortably, with the capacity to stand and walk for extended periods.
