Job Summary:

As an HVAC Technician at Six Flags, you will be responsible for the maintenance and installation of all HVAC needs in our parks. This includes diagnosing, trouble-shooting, and installing air conditioning and heating systems, air supply and return plenums with duct board, and flex ducting. Your responsibilities will vary by location, but you will be expected to perform a range of tasks, including installing, repairing, adjusting, maintaining, retrofitting, and troubleshooting refrigerant controls, compressors, heat pumps, split systems, ductless splits, packaged units, electric motors, motor controls, commercial furnaces, and related controls, water pumps, exhaust fans, unit heaters, economizers, humidifiers, capacity controls, sizes of air compressors and air dryers, and related accessories and controls, chillers, and cooling towers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, repair, and maintain HVAC systems, including air conditioning and heating systems, air supply and return plenums, and duct board and flex ducting.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with HVAC systems, including refrigerant controls, compressors, heat pumps, split systems, and related controls.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and inspecting equipment, and making recommendations for improvements and modifications.
  • Assist with major overhauls, modifications, and alterations as required.
  • Ensure the safe operation of each work area and each work project.
  • Assist with general cleaning, inspection, and reassembly of equipment as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and logs of all work performed.
  • Interact with and communicate with various groups and individuals, including immediate supervisors, other park managers and staff, co-workers, guests, vendors, contractors, inspectors, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide guest service according to Cedar Fair standards when serving guests, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions, and giving directions.
  • Meet scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.

  • Meet Cedar Fair's attendance requirements as outlined in Cedar Fair's attendance policies.
  • Adhere to Cedar Fair's code of conduct, including costuming and grooming standards as outlined in employees' guidelines and other park/division specific policies and procedures.
