Fiberglass CraftsmanWe are currently seeking a skilled Fiberglass Craftsman to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fiberglass fabrication techniques and be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Job PurposeThe Fiberglass Craftsman is responsible for working with the Fiberglass Casting Lead and Foreman. This role may also be referred to as “Gun Runner”.
Duties and Responsibilities- Follow written and verbal instructions provided by carpenters and craftsmen.
- Work independently and communicate effectively with team members.
- Provide training to other team members.
- Oversee projects and ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Utilize various measurement tools, including tape measures, calipers, and levels.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), such as respirators, Tyvek suits, and rubber gloves.
- Use a mil gauge to accurately apply gel coats and fiberglass.
- Cut and grind fiberglass parts according to specifications.
- Demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills within the shop environment.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Consistently produce high-quality work.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the lead or foreman.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in fiberglass fabrication techniques.
- Experience using various hand tools and power equipment.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to fiberglass work.
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented and committed to quality workmanship.
- Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
