WorkSkill is currently hiring a Casting Craftsman.

JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible for working with Fiberglass Casting Lead and Foreman. May also be referred to as “Gun Runner”.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Follow written and verbal directions by carpenters and craftsmen
  • Work independently and communicate with team members
  • Provide training to others
  • Oversees jobs and checks for defects
  • Read various measurement tools (tape measures, calipers, levels, etc.)
  • Be tolerant of PPE safety equipment (respirator, Tyvek suit, rubber gloves, etc.)
  • Using mil gauge for gel coats and fiberglass to  ensure the right amount of material is being applied
  • Cut and grind fiberglass part to specs
  • Demonstrate initiative within the shop
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work area
  • Perform solid acceptable work consistently
  • Additional duties to assist lead and foreman as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of FRP working experience
  • Knowledge of hand tools (chopper gun, putty gun, etc.)
  • Knowledge of different types of materials (gel coat, resin, putty, fiberglass cloth, etc.)
  • Knowledge of all techniques of building FRP part
  • High School or equivalent
  • Vocational or technical school training

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Duties and responsibilities would be completed in our shop.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job:
  • All journeymen should expect to do a considerable amount of lifting, carrying, kneeling, balancing, and even crawling.
  • Thus a certain amount of strength and dexterity, and alertness is required. 
  • Must be prepared to work in various conditions, and knowledgeable of hazards and safety requirements.
