Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Development and Improvement:

Collaborate with faculty to create and enhance curricula for barbering and cosmetology programs. Ensure that the programs meet industry standards, current trends, and licensing requirements. Regularly assess and update course materials to uphold program quality.

Faculty Oversight and Growth:

Recruit, hire, and onboard qualified educators. Provide mentorship and opportunities for professional development for faculty members. Conduct evaluations of part-time faculty and address any issues promptly.

Student Engagement and Support:

Create a supportive learning environment that encourages student involvement and achievement. Address student inquiries, concerns, and grievances effectively. Monitor student progress and implement necessary support measures.

Program Management:

Oversee departmental budgets, resources, and equipment. Coordinate class schedules and room assignments efficiently. Ensure adherence to state regulations and accreditation standards.

Industry Collaboration:

Build relationships with local salons, spas, and beauty enterprises. Work with industry professionals to enhance hands-on learning experiences. Stay updated on industry trends and innovations.

Licensing and Accreditation:

Ensure departmental compliance with state licensing regulations. Facilitate the college's accreditation processes and documentation. Prepare necessary reports and participate in external evaluations.

Community Engagement and Promotion:

Promote the department's programs through workshops, events, and outreach. Attend career fairs, industry conferences, and networking opportunities. Advocate for the college within the beauty sector.

Preferred Qualifications

Instructor's License: Must possess a valid instructor's license for barbering, nail technology, esthetics, or cosmetology. Experience: Significant background in the beauty industry, including teaching and leadership roles. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities. Leadership Skills: Proven capacity to lead and motivate faculty and students. Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and administrative capabilities.
