Logistics Coordinator for Truck Fleet

At the Newark Board of Education, we are seeking a skilled Logistics Coordinator to oversee our fleet of trucks. The ideal candidate will have experience in truck maintenance, minor repairs, and loading/unloading nonhazardous materials.

We estimate the annual salary for this position to be around $65,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

As a Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for:

  • Driving trucks with a gross vehicle weight rating of less than 26,000 pounds to pick up, haul, and deliver nonhazardous materials.
  • Assisting with the repair and installation of snow plows and spreaders.
  • Loading and unloading nonhazardous materials of varied types.
  • Performing minor repairs and adjustments on trucks.
  • Maintaining garage cleanliness and records of trips.
  • Operating snow removal equipment to keep roads clear.

The ideal candidate must have:

  • Knowledge of truck care and maintenance, and the competent operation of trucks and auxiliary equipment.
  • Ability to detect truck driving and operating problems, and develop effective work methods.
  • Ability to operate trucks and auxiliary equipment in a skilled and safe manner.
